Chickpea face mask

Chickpeas are not only tasty and nutritious food, but can also have benefits for skin care when used in the form of chickpea flour. This is one of my favorite face masks as it has done wonders for my oily, acne prone skin. It also works great for dry skin. My mom has dry skin, and she has been using it for years and always impressed by the results without fail.

This DIY mask also works great as an exfoliator as the fine ground flour helps gently eliminate the dead skin leaving the face super soft and fresh. I suggest you use this mask just once a week, since you do not want to over exfoliate your skin which can lead to dry and flaky skin.

You need a few ingredients to make this natural DIY face mask:

Ingredients:

  • Chickpea flour
  • Turmeric powder
  • Water

Instruction:

  1. Take a tablespoon of chickpea flour in a bowl
  2. Add a pinch of turmeric powder to the bowl
  3. Add water to make a thick paste, thick enough so that when you apply it to your face, the mixture does not run down your face
  4. Keep the mask on for 12-15 minutes, or until it’s hard enough that you can’t open your mouth without wrinkling your face
  5. Slowly wet your face and wash it off in a circular motion so the mask also exfoliates your skin
  6. Pat dry your face and follow with your regular toner and moisturizer

You will instantly notice smooth texture and pore minimizing effect on your skin. By no means I imply that this mask will get rid of your pores, but it will tighten your pores to give it that effect.
